Wolves transfer target offered contract by Torino, player is 'considering' his options

Wolves could face competition for one of their transfer targets from a club in Serie A.

We are now living in a post-Euro 2024 world. England may have broken all of our hearts once again - but the 2024/25 Premier League season is not too far away, as the ongoing summer transfer window rages on. Who have Wolverhampton Wanderers been linked with today?

Torino have entered the race to sign a Wolves transfer target, who represented his country at the Euros. He is available on a free transfer - as such, Gary O’Neil’s men will need to act fast if they do not want to miss out on his services.

Meanwhile, a former Wolves academy star has made the jump to Wrexham in League One - he also spent time in Celtic’s youth system during the 2021/22 season.

Torino make offer for Wolves target Che Adams

Wolves’ interest in Southampton’s Che Adams is well documented at this point - but they could be set to miss out on the 33-cap Scotland international’s services, as Serie A outfit Torino have reportedly put forth an offer to sign the player on a free transfer.

This is according to a recent report from Italian outlet TuttoSport. Adams is thought to be ‘tempted’ by the idea of a move to Italy, but Torino are not offering him the contract he wants as of yet.

He’s said to want a ‘fixed rate’ of at least £1.6 million per year, as well as bonuses on top of this. It is unclear if Wolves are willing to satisfy these terms, but it leaves the door open for them to make a move. Wolves had previously submitted a transfer offer of £18 million for Adams back in the summer of 2024, but this was rejected by Southampton after their relegation from the Premier League.

Previously, Adams has turned out for clubs such as Sheffield United, Birmingham City and Ilkeston FC. Despite playing for England’s U20s team, he represents Scotland on the international stage - the 28-year-old has scored six goals for the Tartan Army thus far.

Wrexham announce signing of former Wolves youth player Umar Nawaz

Former Wolves academy player Umar Nawaz has left the club to join Wrexham’s youth system ahead of the 2024/25 season. The Red Dragons currently play in League One, after they achieved promotion by finishing second in League Two at the end of the previous campaign.

He first joined Celtic’s academy in his formative years, before leaving the Bhoys to join Wolves’ youth system. He left the club this year and now will ply his trade for Wrexham.

Wrexham Academy Manager Andy Lowe said in an interview on their official club website: “We are delighted to announce we have offered ten players full-time scholarships in our Academy, all of which started their two-year journey with Wrexham AFC on July 1.

“This is the start of an exciting journey for the players, their families, and the Football Club and the staff are very much looking forward to supporting the young players in their development and to build on the successes of last season.”
