Manager in demand makes Wolves transfer agreement his ‘priority’ as £10m price set
The Old Gold are set to enter talks with Sporting Lisbon over the potential sale of Chiquinho, a winger who spent last season on loan at Famalicão in Liga Portugal.
Signed in 2021 for around £3 million, the now 24-year-old has only made nine senior appearances for Wolves. He spent half a campaign on loan at Stoke City but only played four times before joining Famalicão for a far more successful season last time around.

Hide AdChiquinho impressed in his home nation, scoring five goals and making four assists in 27 league matches. He displayed quite the competitive streak as he received 10 yellow cards and one red in that period but his desire was appreciated.
Despite a decent 2023/24, Chiquinho is unlikely to be in Wolves’ plans for next season. Gary O’Neil’s side must sell up in order to complete any big-money transfer business, so the winger is probably one of those who will be seen as dispensable.
Sporting ‘considering’ Wolves swoop
Portuguese outlet O Jogo reports there’s already a potential suitor for Chiquinho and it’s not just any ordinary club. Champions Sporting Lisbon, coached by in-demand manager Ruben Amorim, are said to have expressed an interest in signing Chiquinho.
It’s claimed Wolves have asked for around £10 million to sell the winger and Sporting are considering making a bid. Amorim wants to add to his wide options and has been impressed by not only Chiquinho’s numbers but also his physicality. The attacker’s defensive work rate is said to be appreciated, too.

The 20-year-old, who can play as a right-back or on either wing, enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough season as he scored seven and assisted seven in 30 Liga Portugal matches.
