The 26-year-old joined the Bundesliga outfit in January and made six appearances for them, netting against Darmstadt 98. Kalajdzic suffered a serious knee injury in 2022 after making his debut following a £15m move and this is the latest setback for the Austrian footballer.
As for the timeline of his return, it is a lengthy injury to recover from but there is optimism that he could return before the end of 2024. He has returned to Wolves now who are his parent club and will rehabilitate in the Midlands.

"He is mentally very strong and now takes on this task. After that, we will see him again at the latest in winter.”
Kalajdzic began the season at Wolves after recovering from his injury and made 13 appearances for them this season. He netted in wins against Everton and Bournemouth but was limited to just one league start and was an unused substitute on 10 occasions.

Hide AdKalajdzic was allowed to depart Molineux along with Fabio Silva in January despite Wolves being on the search for a striker. If they did have plans to bring in a forward and raise funds for one through selling players who have fallen out of favour they will now be unable to sell Kalajdzic given his injury. He will now have to work hard with the medical staff and get himself up to speed for the 2024/25 season.
Wolves currently have one senior player injured who is currently at the club and that is Matheus Cunha. He 'significantly' damaged his hamstring in the defeat to Brentford earlier this month and is out for an indefinite period. Cunha's national team boss Dorvial Junior ruled him out of action for Brazil's friendlies with England and Spain next month.
