Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United target Hugo Ekitike has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt – but there's still a window of opportunity for a hijack.

The 21-year-old striker only joined Paris Saint-Germain last July for a fee of £24.4 million but could already be moved on as he has only started 12 times in Ligue 1 this season. Sky Germany reports Eintracht Frankfurt have "reached a basic verbal agreement" with Ekitike but negotiations with PSG "have only just begun".

Wolves and Newcastle have both been heavily linked with the attacker over recent weeks but they must move very quickly if they want to act on their interest. If the Old Gold or the Magpies indeed do want to sign Ekitike, the agreement with Frankfurt will hurry the process.

It's claimed the former Stade Reims man, who has racked up 13 goals and eight assists in 52 Ligue 1 appearances to date, would take a pay cut to seal a winter transfer. His current wage is said to be around €4 million (£3.4 million) per year but a drop to €3 million (£2.6 million) would be accepted.

Meanwhile, Jonny could finally be sold

In other Wolves transfer news, outcast defender Jonny Otto could be set for a January move as Greek Super League giants PAOK have commenced negotiations with the Old Gold.

Jonny has been a superb servant but tainted - if not ruined - his Wolves career with a moment of madness in November. The full-back has been banned from first-team activities ever since he spat at a member of staff, elbowed teammate Tawanda Chirewa and damaged a television after a training session.

Nonetheless, PAOK are determined to conclude a deal and La Liga side Celta Vigo are hopeful of finding a way to re-sign their former defender.
