Wolverhampton Wanderers outcast Jonny Otto could finally be set to move on as Greek giants PAOK have initiated contact over a potential transfer.

The defender, who can play in either full-back position, has been a superb servant but tainted - if not ruined - his Wolves career with a moment of madness in November. Jonny has been banned from first-team activities ever since he spat at a member of staff, elbowed teammate Tawanda Chirewa and damaged a television after a training session.

Although Gary O'Neil has refused to rule out Jonny returning to first-team action when his ban ends at the end of this month, Wanderers are keen to sell Jonny before the conclusion of the winter transfer window. Our sister title Shropshire Star reports PAOK have now followed up on their interest in the 29-year-old by opening talks with Wolves.

There are potential hurdles for the deal to go through, however, as PAOK aren't able to fork out a large transfer fee and Jonny would probably have to take a pay cut to seal a move to the Greek Super League. The defender's former side in La Liga, Celta Vigo, are also interested but are yet to make any formal contact with the club – just with the player's representatives.

Jonny, since signing from Atletico Madrid for a fee of £18 million in 2019 following an initial loan, has made 134 appearances for Wolves. In that time, the former Spain international has contributed six goals and five assists. Jonny's greatest achievement was helping Nuno Espirito Santo's side qualify for the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League.
