Fabrizio Romano reveals Wolves transfer demands for Fabio Silva as two new clubs join race
The transfer guru has posted his second update of the day on the saga after revealing earlier on Thursday that Serie A side Genoa had a loan offer rejected. More information has come to light with it now reported by Romano that Wolves are asking for a mandatory buy clause in any clubs who submit a loan offer to them.

Hide AdReal Betis are now said to have asked for information on the Portuguese international according to Romano, whilst Werder Bremen have also added Silva to their shortlist. The transfer window shuts on Friday 30 August 2024 for clubs in England, Germany and Spain, and so there is little over two weeks for a club to conclude a deal.
Werder Bremen finished ninth in the Bundesliga last season, whilst Real Betis recorded a seventh placed finish under former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini. A seventh-placed finish for Betis earned them a place in the Conference League play-off round, and they will play the loser out of Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih and Viktoria Plzen later this month. Betis could seem the more suited destination for Silva, who can speak Spanish, and offer him the opportunity to play European football again on the club stage.
In June, Fabio Silva in an interview with Relevo said that it was 'no secret' that he didn't want to play at Wolves. He hoped that he and Wolves could find an agreement to find something that work for both of them. Betis are one of the clubs reportedly interested in signing him, and his preferred destination is a move to Spain.

“We both agree, now we have to try to find the best situation for both of us to be happy. It’s not good to change countries all the time. I've already told my agent: I want to play in Spain .
“I'm telling you the truth, it's the destination I would love. I like the culture, the country, La Liga football... I think my style fits very well with the Spanish one.”

Hide AdSilva's contract runs out in 2026, leaving him with two years left on his current deal, and right now he doesn't appear in Gary O'Neil's plans. He signed for a then club record £35.6m in 2020, but made the admission that FC Porto pushed him towards making the move, and that if he didn’t sign, then he wouldn’t play for the first-team at the Estádio do Dragao.
Any money received from Silva would be welcome to Wolves, who are in the market for replacements for Max Kilman and Pedro Neto. Kilman and Neto were sold to West Ham and Chelsea for a combined £94m.
"Those guys, we need to replace them," manager O'Neil told Sky Sports. "They are a huge part of what we were. Max played every minute of every game and Pedro had a huge involvement in loads of our goals and loads of our big results.
