Blackburn Rovers ‘closing in’ on signing former Wolves captain Danny Batth
Blackburn Rovers could soon announce the signing of Danny Batth on a free transfer, following his release from Norwich City at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Rovers have had a ‘long-standing’ interest in the 33 year old, according to a report from the Lancashire Telegraph. Batth has allegedly received a slew of offers from ‘the UK and abroad’ but has ultimately decided to make the jump to Ewood Park this summer. He has yet to undergo his medical at the club - this will take place in the next couple of days.
Batth is best known for his time at Wolves, where he was a long serving captain of the club. He spent ten years at the Molineux Stadium, having stuck by the club even when they dropped into League One back in the 2012/23 season.
All in all, Batth made 195 league appearances for Wolves, scoring 14 goals along the way. Outside of this, he has also featured for clubs such as Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke City and Sunderland.
