Aston Villa's 'dream' transfer target stance revealed amid Barcelona interest and £150k-a-week offer

Aston Villa transfer target Joao Felix is reportedly holding out for a move to Barcelona, despite being strongly admired by Unai Emery.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, despite there being interest from Felix's former club Benfica and Aston Villa, Felix is prioritising a move to the Camp Nou. He reportedly sees himself as a part of Hansi Flick's new project but a loan move is on the back burner and will only move for him as a last report.

In another report, this one from HITC Sport, Aston Villa are pursuing a permanent deal and would be prepared to make him their highest-paid player. Atletico Madrid are keen to sell the player and Villa are prepared to pay in an excess of £50m to land him.
Both Barcelona and Benfica would only be interested in pursuing a loan move, whilst Villa are willing to push the boat out to sign him. According to HITC Sport, Felix has a deal worth more than £250,000 a week which is something Villa would not match.
His proposed deal at Villa would be £150,000 a week which would include bonuses, which would reportedly make him the top earner at Villa Park. Villa have already made some big money signings in this window and show no signs of slowing down.
Felix could now be faced with the decision of taking a pay-cut to leave Atletico Madrid in a move that could help resurrect his career after showing some early promise, which made him one of the most valuable players in football. Atletico if they sell him would have to take a loss in the £113 million they paid for him in 2019, and potentially fund the loss of earnings Felix would take if he did move to Villa Park.
