West Brom may be forced to delve into the transfer market to bring in some extra goalkeeping cover. According to reporter Graeme Bailey on X, they are considering different ‘options’ between now and the end of the transfer window at 11pm.
The Baggies are set to lose their number one Alex Palmer to Ipswich Town in the Premier League. They are subsequently recalling Josh Griffiths from his loan at Bristol Rovers in League One.

What now for West Brom?
Tony Mowbray’s side still have time to scramble around for another stopper before the window shuts. If they miss out, there is always the chance to sign free agents.
Griffiths has caught the eye with Bristol Rovers over recent times and will be ready to compete for the place between the sticks at The Hawthorns. They also have Joe Wildsmith, who was snapped up last summer following the end of his contract at Derby County.
West Brom have brought Mowbray back after Carlos Corberan’s exit to Valencia. He is a vastly experienced manager and knows the club inside out as they look to finish in the top six.

West Brom latest update
Time will tell whether West Brom end up getting a replacement for Palmer. If not, they have Griffiths and Wildsmith ready to step up. The Baggies lost 2-1 away at Plymouth Argyle last time out. They weren’t able to get anything against the Pilgrims and returned home with nothing.
Mowbray said afterwards: "I thought our performance was ok. We had a lot of dominance and a lot of the ball, but not enough efforts at goal. We spoke at half-time about the need for more end product, which is what we’ve spoken about since I walked in the door really. I didn’t really feel like they were a threat. I thought we dealt with them really well. They hit a lot of long balls and you’ve then got to clear the ball from out of your box.
"I think they were given a leg-up by a pretty poor decision from what I’ve seen. I’ve only seen it once on a laptop. I’m sure there are people out there who will see why it was given as a penalty, but for me, the player is so close to where the ball was struck from. I’m not sure what the referee wants him to do.
