With Hull City’s rumoured pursuit of Okay Yokuslu, a new central midfielder might be needed. Brannagan has never played in the Championship and has spent most of his career in League One.
He came through the youth academy at Liverpool and made nine first-team appearances for the Reds. Brannagan got to play three times in the Premier League and he even tasted European football by playing in the UEFA Europa League.

In other news, Sunderland are considering offering a contract to a player who was on trial at the Hawthorns earlier this year.
Edward Jones was let go by Everton this summer, but before his contract was up he went on trial with the Baggies. He played in an under-21s game, as they beat Leeds United in the Premier League 2.

According to our sister newspaper the Sunderland Echo, Jones has joined Sunderland’s youth team on a trial period. He has flown over to Italy with them and now the Black Cats are running the rule over him.
He will get the opportunity to impress bosses when the under-21s face Bologna and Hella Verona’s under-18s team.
