West Brom are reportedly in competition with two Championship clubs for the signing of Leicester City striker Tom Cannon.

Hide AdThe Baggies along with Sheffield United and Stoke City are in for the Foxes forward according to Alan Nixon, a football journalist for The Sun. He could be available on loan after falling out of favour at the King Power Arena.
Cannon despite being signed when Enzo Maresca was in charge, didn't get many starting opportunities and spent some time out on the sidelines last season. Maresca has left for Chelsea and now former Nottingham Forest and Swansea City boss Steve Cooper is in charge, and he is now faced with the decision by either loaning him out or giving him an opportunity to prove himself in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old made a total of 16 appearances for Leicester last season, only starting five. His brace against Huddersfield Town on New Year's Day were the only league goals he scored last term, and during their end-of-season run-in, he played just 15 minutes in their last 11 games, with the title all but wrapped up.

Hide AdLeicester signed Cannon from Everton in September for a fee of around £7.5m with a sizeable sell-on-clause included in the deal. He is under contract with Leicester until the summer of 2028, so they are likely to only entertain a loan deal, as there is still a chance for the player to live up to his potential.
He was prolific at academy level for the Toffees, scoring 51 goals in 97 games for their under-18 and under-21 sides. Cannon had a loan spell with Preston North End in the second half of the 2022/23 season and netted eight goals in 21 games.
Sory Kaba latest
Cannon isn't the only striker that West Brom and Sheffield United are both competing for as Sory Kaba is said to be of interest to the two, and Cardiff City. Last week, the Spanish press said that the Baggies were the most keen to sign Kaba, who has been made available for transfer by Las Palmas.

Hide AdWest Brom will one less team to worry about as Cardiff are closing in on a deal for a striker. Wilfried Kanga is on his way to South Wales after WalesOnline reported that medical was booked for the Ivory Coast international. The 26-year-old is joining on loan with an option to buy from German club Hertha.
According to Paul Abbandonato, previously the Head of Sport for WalesOnline, Kanga will be Cardiff's only centre forward signing, which rules them out of making a move for Kaba. In June, Darren Witcoop, a transfer journalist, said that Kaba is a backup for Sheffield Wednesday if they can't get a deal done for Ike Ugbo, but right now West Brom is in front.
