It's now under two weeks until West Brom get their 2024/25 Championship campaign underway when they face QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday, August 10.
Carlos Corberan's men are looking to put their play-off pain behind them and go one step further. A few tweaks have been made to the squad with some experienced players moved on, and in their place are some ready to prove their worth at this level.
As excitement builds for the trip to West London, it's time to celebrate the past. West Brom used to be known as a yo-yo-club given how they would win promotion one season, and then get relegated before doing the same thing again. West Brom are entering their third consecutive season in the Championship, but they won't want to hang round much longer.
The Baggies have amassed 1,400 points from the games they have played in the Championship. It's quite a lot, and it's something to be proud of. Their next win will see them hit that landmark, and there’s been some memorable wins along the way.
Perhaps one of the memorable campaigns in the club's history in the Championship was when they won the league in 2008. Tony Mowbray in his first job in English management had Kevin Phillips firing with 22 goals scored, and in what was a closely contested promotion race, they finished two points ahead of Stoke City.
Kim Do-Heon and Chris Brunt netted for West Brom against this season's opening day opponents QPR, before West Brom lifted the trophy on the final day of the campaign. It's been 16-years since that trophy was lifted by WBA at Loftus Road, and hopefully in a fortnight, there will be a positive result in what will be the start of a memorable campaign.
As we continue to take a trip down memory lane, we take a look at the all-time Championship table.
