West Brom kicked off their Championship campaign with a solid 1-1 result away at fellow promotion hopefuls, Middlesbrough.

Isaiah Jones had put the home side in front but two of Albion’s summer signings, Jed Wallace and John Swift, combined after the break to level things up.

The new men provided a spark that simply was not there for the Baggies last season and in turn, supplied an optimism that this season could be a much more positive one.

It’s an opinion even shared by FiveThirtyEight’s supercomputer, which has seen a slight increase in Albion’s overall chance of winning the lot!

The system uses Forecasts and Soccer Power Index (SPI) ratings to show each teams percentage chance of winning the title, reaching the play-offs and being relegated.

The statistics also provide a predicted points tally that each team will finish on when the regular season wraps up in May 2023.

Here is how the supercomputer predicts the 2022/23 EFL Championship table will look at the end of the season as of Monday, August 1.
