West Brom could lose Cedric Kipre after it emerged that there were interest across three divisions for him, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Kipre has been a key figure for the Baggies this season, and is one of the first names on the team sheet under Carlos Corberan. The 27-year-old has played in 25 of the 26 Championship games played this season, and has played the most games out of any centre-back at the club.

He returned to The Hawthorn's this summer on the back of a season-long loan at Cardiff City, and is regarded as one of the more consistent performers in the team. His performances have not gone amiss with the wider football public with clubs in the Premier League among others apparently keeping an interest.

In a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Romano said: "French centre back Cedric Kipre could be on the move in 2024 as his current deal at West Bromwich expires in the summer. "He's having outstanding season in Championship; clubs in Premier League, Ligue1 and Bundesliga are tracking Kipre."

Kipre's contract runs out this summer and at the moment there has been no movement on talks. The Baggies will have to balance contract talks against needing to reduce the wage bill according to the Express & Star given the uncertainty around the takeover situation.

He has been at West Brom since September 2020 and has made 45 appearances in total. He's had a loan spell with Charleroi and with Cardiff, and last season the Paris-born defender was key in helping keep the Bluebirds in the division.

In other news, Don Goodman has put praise on to striker Daryl Dike for how he has dealt with his injury issues at West Brom. Dike made a goal scoring return against Aldershot Town in the FA Cup, and is hoping to put his worries behind him after spending nearly a year on the sidelines.

“We’ve seen that, when he’s on the pitch, he’s an absolute handful at Championship level,” Goodman said to West Brom News.

“The problem is, we haven’t seen him on the pitch that much. They tried to nurse him back the last time he came back.

“It’s heartbreaking for a player to get a big-money move to a big club, desperate to impress, then get injured very early on in proceedings.

“He’s had to show real mental fortitude to fight and make sure he gets back and gives himself the best possible opportunity to stay fit.

“Ultimately, that’s what it’s all about – not about getting fit but staying fit.

“And if West Brom can keep him fit between now and the end of the season, then their goals tally will start to rise and improve. “
