West Brom v Blackburn Rovers team news - as 11 out and 6 doubts

Latest injury and team news ahead of West Brom v Blackburn Rovers in the EFL Championship - including an update on Aynsley Pears.

West Brom turn their attention back to EFL Championship action as they host Blackburn Rovers at The Hawthorn's.

A much-changed Baggies side overcame non-league Aldershot Town last Sunday, winning 4-1 with Daryl Dike marking his return from injury with a goal. Everton transfer target Tom Fellows was also on the score sheet whilst there was also a goal from the returning Jovan Malcolm who spent time out on loan at Cheltenham Town this season.

Saturday's opponents Blackburn also progressed as they beat Cambridge United 5-2 at Ewood Park. Sammie Szmodics scored a hat-trick in the first-half before Arnor Sigurdsson and Harry Leonard made sure of the victory.

These two sides meet for the first time since their opening day clash in which Rovers won. Dilian Markanday and Harry Leonard scored in a two-minute salvo and despite Matt Phillips' effort in the 50th minute it wasn't enough to mount a comeback.

West Brom currently hold fifth place in the division and are six points off of fourth-placed Leeds United whilst there are just two points separating them and Sunderland. The Baggies have a three-point gap over Hull City who are just outside of the play-offs and are aiming for their first league win over the New Year after losing to Swansea City on January 1.

Blackburn Rovers are 17th and are on a bad run of form in the league having failed to win in their last six matches. The Lancashire outfit have suffered four defeats in their last five league games and their 2-2 draw with Rotherham United was their only positive result in that period.

Both Carlos Corberan and Jon Dahl Tomasson are having to deal with a raft of injuries at their respective clubs at the minute. The Baggies have a few players that are doubtful after struggling in training last week whilst Blackburn have some long-term absentees. Here is the latest injury and team news from both West Brom and Blackburn Rovers.
