West Brom and Aston Villa domino effect 'underway' as transfer agreed

A domino effect between West Brom and Aston Villa is underway after a recent transfer was confirmed.

The door may have just swung open for West Bromwich Albion to complete a move for Aston Villa defender Calum Chambers.

Chambers, who has played just three times this season and was placed on the transfer list by Unai Emery, could finally see his nightmare at Villa Park come to an end. A three-time England international, the former Arsenal man emerged as a target for West Brom earlier on during Deadline Day as Carlos Corberan looks to add depth and experience to his defence.

Caleb Taylor's loan departure to Bolton Wanderers has now been confirmed, opening up a spot in the Baggies' defence. Taylor's move away from The Hawthorns could be a strong indication that Albion are confident Chambers will make the switch before the deadline in somewhat of a domino effect movement.

The 30-year-old probably wouldn't be a starter straight away as his lack of football this season means he's lacking match sharpness, but he could be crucial after building confidence again. An arrival would push the likes of Kyle Bartley and Semi Ajayi to the next level, too, as there would be more competition to be Cedric Kipre's consistent central defensive partner.

Chambers not the only West Brom and Villa deal

Another deal is on the cards between the Baggies and the Villans as Albion youngster Keilan Quinn is expected to complete a move late on deadline day. The midfielder is set to join up with the under-16 team at Bodymoor Heath and will become a scholar next season if all goes to plan. West Brom are set to receive around £1 million from Villa to see the transfer go through.
