League One away attendance table and how Birmingham City compare to Wrexham, Stockport County & others

Birmingham City boast the away support in League One, that's official according to the latest set of figures.

Blues have so far sold out every league away game that they have been to following their relegation to the third tier. The good times are back at St Andrew's, and it's clear that supporters want to be there every step of the way.

More than 3,000 supporters descending on to the capital for their clash with promotion rivals Charlton Athletic last week. On Tuesday in the EFL Trophy, Birmingham City outnumbered the amount of home fans at Shrewsbury town.

In their next match, which is away at Lincoln City, sold out in less than two days, which shows that Birmingham City want a taste of these grounds. Birmingham have a confidence within themselves to get promoted this season, and maybe even lift the league title, and so supporters who otherwise wouldn't have visited these grounds but for their relegation, are getting a feel for these stadiums.

Birmingham City have so far travelled to Wycombe Wanderers, Leyton Orient, Rotherham United, and Charlton Athletic in the league. After their trip to Sincil Bank next week, Birmingham City are also on their travels to Mansfield Town, who won promotion from League Two last season.

The home crowd of 27,985 from Birmingham’s game against Reading on the opening day of the season is already the league's highest attended match this season, and Birmingham boast the best home support, but now it’s been confirmed they’re also the best supported team on the road.

Birmingham have an average of 2,080 away supporters at matches, and their biggest following is the 3,105 that were at The Valley at the weekend. At the opposite end of that, Stevenage have the smallest average away following in the league with 336 going to games, and that’s only two fewer than Crawley Town.
