The 19-year-old, who has recently been part of United’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, is said to be on the radar of a number of Championship clubs with Millwall and Middlesbrough also in the frame for his signature.

Known predominantly as Hannibal, the youngster is mainly deployed as a central midfielder or central attacking midfielder and could provide a much needed spark in the final third for both Blues or Albion.

He’s already been capped 16 times at international level with Tunisia and has been praised by new United manager Erik ten Hag for his efforts in training.

Birmingham have a good track record when it comes to bringing in young talent from the red side of Manchester and this could give them the upper hand if they are to pursue a move.

Tahith Chong and Teden Mengi both spent part of last season at St Andrew’s with the former in particular making a big impression and to this day, speaks incredibly highly of his time in B9.

The Red Devils are due back in England imminently and the wheels could start turning rapidly on this one and many other transfers across the board as Premier League teams get set to name their 25-man squads.
