It will be another highly competitive season in the second tier, though, and as both teams look to get up to speed this summer, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Midlands pair.

Corberan boost

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has reaffirmed his loyalty to the club amid financial restrictions this summer and previous interest from elsewhere.

“I am very conscious of the financial situation of the club, but when I extended my contract it was with the idea to be in the club because I was enjoying it a lot from my first day here,” the Baggies boss has said. “I felt something very special that made me extend my contract without any type of doubt because West Bromwich is exactly the place I want to be and develop the work.

“Sometimes coaches have one type of challenge, sometimes another type of challenge, the one we have in front is a challenge but I want to be in West Bromwich giving my best to face the challenge in the best way.”

Dembele deal

Birmingham City look set to get their hands on a Premier League talent this summer.

According to Birmingham Live, Blues are close to finalising a deal to sign Bournemouth winger Siriki Dembele. Dembele has been with the Cherries since 2022 when he joined on a £1.5million deal from Peterborough. Since then, the wideman has made 19 league appearances, but he now looks set to drop down a division.

City were said to have been interested last season, and they now look set to finally wrap up a move.
