In the meantime, Wolves have put forth an asking price for one of their most coveted players in the summer transfer window. Several big clubs are currently ‘in talks’ - but will he leave the Molineux Stadium before the transfer deadline passes?

Giorgio Chiellini praises Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins for winning goal

England fans would likely rather forget all about Giorgio Chiellini. In Euro 2020, he was part of the Italian team who defeated the Three Lions in the final, playing a pivotal role throughout the game at the heart of Italy’s defence.

Nevertheless, the former Juventus star has had plenty of nice things to say about Aston Villa ace Ollie Watkins after he scored the winning goal of England’s semi final encounter against The Netherlands. He described it as a ‘great goal’ and praised Watkins for his clever movement off the ball - despite this, Chiellini also thinks the goal was ‘easily avoidable’ from The Netherlands’ perspective.

Speaking to Sky Italia after the game, Chiellini said: “Watkins’ movement is good but he goes towards the corner [of the penalty area]. It is not a moment in which he is dangerous.

“Blocking the far post allows the goalkeeper to have an easy save and instead if it passes through the legs… The attacker sees it as a great goal and it is a great goal, but it was easily avoidable. I feel sorry for De Vrij who is a great defender. Winning or losing matches is also a question of details.”

Wolves reveal ‘valuation’ of Pedro Neto as clubs ‘hold talks’

Pedro Neto is a man in demand. Wolves are acutely aware of this and while they are doing everything in their power to keep him at the club, they have recently revealed how much it would take for them to consider letting him go.

According to a report from journalist Graeme Bailey with HITC, Wolves will not let Neto leave the club for anything less than £60 million this summer. Wolves are in a strong financial position currently, following the sale of Max Kilman to West Ham United - as such, it is unlikely that they will be bullied into letting him leave for a smaller price than this.

Clubs such as Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the Portuguese international in recent weeks. Wolves will face a challenge in trying to keep him in the Midlands - nevertheless, they seem up for a fight at this stage.
