Wolves have reportedly interviewed former Aston Villa player Rob Edwards over their managerial position. The Midlands outfit are in the hunt for a new boss after sacking Bruno Lage.

Edwards, 39, was dismissed by Watford last month after just 11 games in charge of the Championship. He is now weighing up his next move in the game and has been linked with a few clubs recently.

As per a report by the The Telegraph, he has emerged as a candidate for the vacant Wolves post. He is no stranger to the Molinuex club having played and coached there in the past.

Edwards under consideration?

Edwards rose up through the youth ranks at Aston Villa and went on to play nine times for their first-team as a youngster. However, he left Villa Park in 2004 and embarked on spells at Wolves, Blackpool and Barnsley before hanging up his boots in 2013.

He has since delved into the coaching world and was given his first job by Wolves in their academy ranks. The ex-defender has also managed AFC Telford United, England U16s and Forest Green Rovers, guiding the latter to the League Two title in the last campaign.

Edwards is now eyeing his next role in the game and is now being linked with a return his former club. They were after ex-Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui but he rejected the move in the end, as per the Daily Mail.
