Aston Villa: Fabrizio Romano provides update on Mauricio Pochettino’s future

Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a potential switch to Villa Park.
The Argentine left PSG in July and has since been weighing up his next move in the game. According to a report by The Telegraph, he will be a ‘target’ if Villa decide to make a managerial change and replace Steven Gerrard.

Hide AdVilla are 16th in the Premier League, having won just two of their opening 10 games so far this season, with Gerrard under increasing pressure after the difficult start to the season.
Pochettino managed Tottenham Hotspur from 2014 to 2019 and guided them to the Champions League during his time there. He has also had spells at Espanyol and Southampton in the past.
Romano update
Esteemed football reporter Fabrizio Romano has said that three English clubs have already approached the former PSG boss, and that his aim was to wait ‘at least until the World Cup to decide his future’.
Writing in his CaughtOffside column, Romano said: “The situation for Steven Gerrard is really complicated, I expect updates in the morning (19 October) on Aston Villa decision.”
