Aston Villa’s 10 best performing players in the Premier League - with no Ollie Watkins

We take a look at who Aston Villa’s 10 best performing players are in the Premier League so far this season.

Aston Villa have had a tough start to their Premier League campaign, winning only two of their opening seven games.

Steven Gerrard’s side headed into the international break on a high after beating Southampton 1-0 at Villa Park on September 16.

The Villans sit 15th in the table and will be looking to make it two wins in as many games when they travel to Elland Road to take on Leeds United when Premier League returns in October.

Gerrard’s team have struggled in front of goal, scoring just six times so far. Their goals have been shared evenly amongst six different players, with Jacob Ramsey netting against the Saints.

With that being said, let’s take a look at Villa’s 10 best performing players in the Premier League so far this campaign, according to SofaScore.

The Brazilian was linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer, but remained at the club and has featured in all but one of their league games this season, scoring once.

The French international was one of five first team arrivals this summer. He has started in all of their league games so far and is averaging 3.3 tackles per game.

8 - Jacob Ramsey - 6.87

The 21-year-old’s form this season at club level has earned him a call-up for England’s Under-21 team. He has scored once and registered the same number of assists so far.

The Belgian midfielder joined the club from Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers on deadline day and has featured in five league games since. He is averaging 2.0 interceptions per game.
