Bailey speculation

Villa star Leon Bailey is likely to be the subject of interest this summer, according to one report. The Express say the Villa star could well get interest from Arsenal ahead of next season.

Champions League qualification could certainly strengthen Villa's hand in keeping any and all of their key stars. But Arsenal will be able to offer a large amount of cash and a potential shot at winning the league over the coming years, two things that will always be attractive to a player. The good news is that Bailey only signed a new contract earlier this year, tied down until 2027, and that means Villa will, at the very least, be able to bring in a big fee if he does depart.

Luiz on Watkins

Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz has issued his verdict on teammate Ollie Watkins. “I know the quality he has," Luiz told Sky Sports. "I know he is an extraordinary striker. He doesn’t play the same role as me, of course. My goals are something I am managing to build each season.

“He is a forward that surprises me a lot for his finishing and also for how much he helps us defend. For me, he is one of the best strikers there is at the moment.”
