Three England players - Nottingham Forest forward Morgan Gibbs-White, Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa and Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo - have been ruled out of Lee Carsley’s squad to face Greece and Finland in the Nations League this week.
Gibbs-White pulled up after taking a shot during Nottingham Forest’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea at the weekend and was brought off for Nicolas Dominguez as a result. Konsa, meanwhile, was substituted after he went down with a hamstring injury in Villa’s 0-0 draw against Manchester United on Sunday in the Premier League.

The severity of Konsa’s injury remains to be seen. In a press conference, Unai Emery said: “I don’t know if it’s a big or small injury. The players who do not play with their national teams have to rest now and we will try to get players like Amadou Onana, Jacob Ramsey and John McGinn back in the next two weeks.
“Hopefully we will soon have Boubacar Kamara and Tyrone Mings available after long-term injuries and then we have Emiliano Buendia who is getting fitter.”
It is not all bad news, however - Three Lions talisman Harry Kane has been given a clean bill of health by the FA after he was considered an injury doubt when he was brought off during Bayern Munich’s 3-3 classic against Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend.
