Wolves striker reaches huge career milestone as he reflects on 'incredible achievement'

Armstrong has reflected on reaching his 500-game milestone.

Wolves striker Adam Armstrong has expressed his pride at reaching a significant career milestone.

Armstrong is making his 500th senior club appearance against Bristol City this evening.

The striker has represented Barnsley, Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers, Southampton and West Brom, among others, before joining Wolves in January.

Speaking to Sky Sports before kick-off, Armstrong reflected on the milestone: “It’s every boy’s dream to play in the Football League and to get 500 is an incredible achievement for myself.

“I thank all the clubs I’ve been at long the way, who have helped me get to where I am today. Let’s get some more.”

Armstrong endured a difficult start to the season but has found his scoring touch with goals in consecutive matches, helping Wolves secure victories over Cardiff City and Watford.

“For a striker, it’s always good when the ball hits the back of the net - it gives you confidence,” he added.

”We’ve performed very well so far this season, and we know we’re capable of getting better results, so hopefully I keep the goals coming.”

Wolves could move into the Championship’s automatic promotion places with victory at Bristol City.

On that prospect, Armstrong said: “The Championship is a crazy league where anyone can beat anyone, because the league’s so tight. It would be nice to win tonight to put us up there and let’s kick on.”
