Aston Villa have made their decision for out-of-sorts midfielder Marvelous Nakamba, as the Zimbabwean is reportedly undergoing a medical at Sky Bet Championship outfit Luton Town this morning. The 29-year-old was said to be a major target for West Bromwich Albion and many supposed he would go there, but Luton have unexpectedly won the race.

Yet to play a single minute in the Premier League or cup competitions this campaign, Nakamba has taken quite the back seat at Villa Park. There was plenty of promise when he signed from Club Brugge in 2019 for around £10 million, but he has failed to ever fully get going.

According to The Telegraph, Nakamba is “having a medical at Luton Town this morning ahead of a loan move for the remainder of the season”. It is hoped a temporary spell in the English second tier can revive Nakamba’s career somewhat. Whether he will stay at Villa beyond the summer awaits to be seen.

Meanwhile, Wolves agree loan for defender

In other West Midlands transfer news, Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to allow central defender Yerson Mosquera leave the club on deadline day. The Colombian, who is yet to consistently break into the senior Wolves squad, will go out on loan to Major League Soccer side FC Cincinnati, according to the Express and Star.
