One that match is out of the way the summer transfer window will take centre stage in the news agenda and Aston Villa are expected to have a busy one as they prepare for European action next season. Unai Emery’s side are tipped to bring in a few big arrivlas to bolster the Spaniard’s ranks as they look to improve on the success they had following the former Arsenal boss arriving in late 2022.

Reports coming out of Spain suggest that Villa are very much interested in a striker who they were linked with in January and a £86 million price tag has been set. Elsewhere, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be battling for a major transfer deal but could the Villains be set to enter the race? Aston Villa linked with £86m striker

Spanish publication AS are reporting that Aston Villa are very much interested in signing Real Betis striker Luiz Henrique this summer having previously been linked with the Brazilian in January. It is claimed that the 22-year old has a €100 million (around £86 million) release clause.

Villa may be able to negotiate on that figure as it is claimed that Betis are looking to generate cash this summer and selling the former Fluminense man could be part of that plan having only paid €7.5 million to sign him last summer. He is under contract with the La Liga side till 2028.

Aston Villa ‘join’ Tottenham and Newcastle United in transfer race

According to journalist and self styled ‘transfer expert’ Rudy Galetti, Aston Villa have joined the race to sign Leicester City playmaker James Maddison this summer. The England international is widely expected to leave the King Power Stadium following the foxes relegation to the EFL Championship.

However, it’s Newcastle who are considered the heavy favourites to sign the 26-year old having reportedly chased his signature for several months. The apparent interest from both Spurs and Villa also appears to have driven up Leicester’s asing price with multiple sources claiming they now want £60 million for their star man.
