Aston Villa are back on track after picking up a much-needed home win last time out.

Steven Gerrard’s men saw off Southampton last weekend, with Jacob Ramsey on target to see off the Saints.

It may be early in the season, but Villa will be pleased to have put some space between themselves and the bottom three after a disappointing start.

The Lions now face a wait to return to action due to the international break, facing Leeds United when they return.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Villa Park.

Davis hits back

Villa striker Keinan Davis, who is currently on loan at Watford, has hit back about rumours concerning him.

Davis has only made four appearances for the Hornets, and his limited involvement for his loan club has led to talk that the forward is ‘frustrated’.

But speaking to the Watford Observer, Davis denied the claims, saying: “I just messaged the person who had posted it and said ‘did I tell you that I was frustrated, why are you writing this?’. I wasn’t happy at all because it wasn’t true.”

There were also claims Davis was not ill, despite Watford boss Rob Edwards saying he was.

But the striker has also refuted those claims, adding: “I was ill. I mean, I was in hospital for two days with a serious throat infection.

“It wasn’t a cover-up for anything, nothing sinister like that. I was in hospital, and I was too ill to train. I don’t know where this stuff comes from.”

Digne blow

Villa have suffered a fresh injury concern ahead of their clash with Leeds next week. According to The Athletic, Lucas Digne is returning to the Midlands after suffering an injury with the France setup.

Digne’s absence would be felt significantly, and it’s yet another concern for Villa, with Boubacar Kamara also facing a potential spell on the sidelines.

Thankfully for Gerrard, we do still have more than a week until Villa’s next outing, giving the two players chance to recover.
