Meanwhile, a current member of Unai Emery’s squad has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. His potential wages, should he complete a move, have recently been revealed - how do they compare with his current wages at Villa Park?

Former Leeds United winger Raphinha ‘keen’ on return to Premier League

Suffice to say, Raphinha’s time at Barcelona has not gone according to plan. He is thought to be unsettled at the Nou Camp after a season where he scored six goals and notched up nine assists - as such, he is now ‘keen’ on a return to the Premier League.

This is according to a recent report from HITC. Aston Villa are thought to be interested in a move for the player, but they are not alone - teams such Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for the 27-year-old this summer.

Raphinha’s game time at Barcelona will most likely be limited next season if he does not leave the club, due to the emergence of wonderkid and Euro 2024 winner Lamine Yamal. Therefore, if he wants a regular spot in the first team, he will need to move on - Villa may be able to offer him this if Moussa Diaby departs the club.

Moussa Diaby’s potential wages at Al-Ittihad revealed

Moussa Diaby could leave Villa Park in the coming weeks - reports of his potential departure are becoming more and more frequent. He has been heavily linked with a move to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League - today, his potential salary, should he join the club, has been revealed.

A post on X (formerly Twitter) from Villa Report reads: “Al-Ittihad are pushing to sign Moussa Diaby - he’s been offered a salary of close to €15m with a €2.5m signing bonus. Fee not yet agreed, but Ittihad’s offer is closer to Villa’s €70m+ valuation. The structure of the deal is key.”

This amounts to around £250,000 per week, plus all the add-ons in his contract. It is unclear how much Diaby is earning at Villa, but claims from various sources indicate he is earning between £100,000 to £130,000 a week. As such, if he makes the jump to Al-Ittihad this summer, he would receive a major pay increase.

While Villa would likely take home a large figure for selling Diaby, it would still be a great loss due to his importance to the squad. Last season, the 25-year-old scored six goals and notched up eight assists over the course of 38 Premier League appearances.
