Two Aston Villa transfer deals are set to go through over the weekend.

Aston Villa are expected to conclude their deals for Amadou Onana and Jaden Philogene in the coming days.

According to John Percy, the Midlands football reporter for the Daily Telegraph, Villa are set to complete the 'club record' signing of Onana. He will cost £50m, and will finalise his move at the weekend.

All the financial terms have been agreed with Everton, and the player will undergo a medical at the weekend. Onana has been away on a short break following his involvement at EURO 2024 with Belgium.

The defensive midfielder played in all four of Belgium's games, winning just once as they were eliminated in the Round of 16 following a 1-0 defeat to France. Onana has just come off a season with the Toffees where he played 37 games, finding the back of the net three times, and supplying a teammate for a goal once.

The 22-year-old is coming in as a replacement for Douglas Luiz who finalised his £42.3m move to Juventus at the end of June. Onana has been with Everton for two seasons, and has played 63 times in the Premier League, and also has eight games of Champions League experience under his belt.

Aston Villa aren't only signing Onana, and are also expected to seal the return of Jaden Philogene. Personal terms have already been agreed following an agreement last summer after he left for Hull City, and his reported £13m move is close.

According to Football Insider's Pete O'Rourke, Philogene was at Villa Park on Wednesday (July 18) to finalise his move. An announcement should be made 'imminently' with the player expected to sign a five-year deal. His return to the Villa comes at a time when he was offered the chance to join both Everton and Ipswich Town, who were both chasing his signature.

Philogene's imminent arrival comes at a time when Moussa Diaby is moving closer towards the exit door. Al-Ittihad are progressing in their transfer talks, and with Philogene on the cusp of a return, at least the 22-year-old will soften the blow, and will give Unai Emery something to work with in the attacking department.
