A yellow weather warning for rain and ice has now been issued in Birmingham

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain and ice with Storm Eowyn expected to arrive in the West Midlands this weekend.

A yellow weather warning for wind is already in place for Birmingham and the West Midlands throughout Friday (January 24).

The Met Office now has a warning in place for ice on Saturday (January 25) as well as heavy rain on Sunday (January 26) and Monday (27). Heavy rain is expected to fall in the region on Sunday afternoon and on Monday morning.

Temperatures are expected to plummet during the early hours of Saturday morning with a warning for ice in place throughout the day.

Likely dry with clear periods and turning cold with a rural frost possible. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

After a dry start, turning wet and windy on Sunday. Remaining changeable with showers at times on Monday and Tuesday and often windy. Temperatures close to average.
