Two people die in ambulances

It has been revealed that two patients tragically died in the back of ambulances while waiting to be admitted to hospital in the West Midlands.

A whistleblower has revealed that massive demand has meant ‘category two’ calls which include life threatening incidents could be waiting up to six hours for ambulance. A spokesperson for NHS England said: ‘All local healthcare services are working closely to help reduce ambulance handover delays.’

Sandwell Council miss out on ‘levelling-up’ funding

Sandwell Council has admitted it did not apply for levelling up funding, government cash to improve town centre infrastructure. A Sandwell council spokesperson said: ‘There will be two rounds of levelling up funds and Sandwell will focus on business cases bids in round two.’
