Harvey Andrews, who lives in Brockton in Worthen with his wife, said the female peacock turned up in their garden a month ago and liked it so much, it has refused to leave.
He said the couple are appealing to find the owner after wildlife charities said they cannot collect the errant peafowl and efforts to find its owner have failed.

“She turned up a month ago, we’ve not had peacocks around here before so we don’t know where she has come from,” said Mr Andrews. “But she has made my garden her home now and won’t leave.
“I called the RSPCA and a local wildlife rescue centre and they were not much help in locating its owner.”

The RSPCA and wildlife charities say they do not generally collect healthy or wandering peacocks because they are considered domestic or farmed animals rather than wildlife.
“I think it may be abandoned. It does have a ring on her leg but you can’t get close enough to read the number,” Mr Andrews said, adding that he was appealing for the owner to come forward and collect the peafowl.
“It is in our garden permanently, and it is pooing everywhere, so we think it is time she moved on.”
