Joe Lycett has revealed that he was “nervous” ahead of his first Late Night Lycett on Channel 4.

The comedian, 34, from Birmingham, appeared on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Greg James where he opened up about the launch of his new show.

During the show, the radio presenter, 37, asked Joe Lycett how he was feeling ahead of the first live Late Night Lycett.

Greg told the comedian: “I really can’t wait to watch your silly, very silly live new show.”

To which Joe revealed that he was feeling ‘nervous’ about the live show that is airing from Digbeth every Friday night.

Joe told the Radio 1 Breakfast show: “I can’t wait. I’m at that stage now where I’m so kind of nervous that I just want it done.”

The radio presenter then reassured Joe that “Nothing bad will happen” with the comedian responding “Yeah, I’ll remind you of that.”

The pair then joked that the show would be “cancelled after one episode”, with Joe telling listeners: “Tune in to see if I’m cancelled after one episode of Late Night Lycett.”

Greg joked back: “He tried to take the BBC down and now it’s Channel 4’s turn” before the pair began laughing.

Joe also appeared on the Radio 1 Breakfast show feature ‘Rehearsing for the Worst Thing’, where the comedian took on the role of several characters to help with listener dilemmas.

In a unique take on an Agony Aunt feature, Joe Lycett took on the role of a listener’s mum as she convinced her to make garlic bread with her chilli con carne.

The comedian also took on the role of a farmer’s dad as he explained that he had got the family tractor stuck in the mud.
