Jack Grealish, 27, started for Manchester City once again this Wednesday in the Champions League semi-final. Playing the full 90 minutes, the Solihull-born star created three chances for his side and completed the most dribbles of any player in the match.

City won the second leg fixture 4-0, with goals from Bernardo Silva, Nathan Aké, and Julián Álvarez. Grealish’s side beat the reigning champions 5-1 on aggregate, and will now progress to the Champions League final against Inter Milan for their chance to lift the trophy for the first time ever.

After the match Jack spoke with Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards, and Kate Abdo, for a live interview on the Etihad turf. The brummie winger was visibly elated with the victory.

Kate Abdo broke the news to Jack that City had become statistically 90% likely to win the treble; the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup, all in one year. Whilst chants from the City fans rang out around the stadium, the former Villa captain was completely immersed in the moment. Unprovoked, he exclaimed: “I’m a bit speechless at the moment, I don’t really know what to say. I’m f*****g buzzing.”

Jamie Carragher, 45, responded with roaring laughter, to which Grealish immediately realised his mistake and apologised before exiting the scene. On his way out of the interview, he told Carragher: “Cheers for putting me in your team of the year”.

In a recent debate between the former Liverpool defender and ex Manchester United full-back, Gary Neville, they formulated hypothetical teams, choosing players from this year’s Manchester City squad and the 1998-1999 Manchester United team.

Carragher’s choice sparked debate on social media, as he chose Jack Grealish over a young Ryan Giggs.
