Ozzy Osbourne funeral procession will take place in Birmingham today - full details and times

Ozzy will be returning home to Birmingham one last time

Ozzy Osbourne’s cortege is set to travel through Birmingham on Wednesday, July 30, giving fans the opportunity to pay their respects one final time.

His body will be brought back for a procession which will take place on Broad Street from 1pm, with a hearse set to make its way to the Black Sabbath Bridge.

His family will also be in the city.

The Lord Mayor of Birmingham Zafar Iqbal told BBC News: "We're going to pay our last respects and homage to one of the greatest living legends of Birmingham.

“He put Birmingham on the map. He put Aston on the map."

The event will take place ahead of a private funeral, giving his family the chance to see the tributes from fans across the city. Broad Street is set to be closed to traffic from 7am on Wednesday, with trams and buses diverted throughout the day.

Osbourne passed away last Tuesday, July 22. Ozzy played his final gig at Villa Park with Black Sabbath less than three weeks ago, performing from a throne on stage at the Aston Villa stadium, which is just 2 miles from the house he grew up in.
