The West Midlands boasts some seriously talented exports, from movie stars and musicians to world class football players.
Recently, we’ve had a look at the famous faces - actors, musicians and even politicians - who were raised in and around Birmingham. Now, we’ve decided to take a look at the famous celebrities who grew in the Solihull villages of Olton and Marston Green.
Many famous people grew up in the peacefull Solihull areas. There are many top schools in the Olton areas - many of which have been ranked as ‘Good’ or ‘Excellent’ by Ofsted. Some of these include: Kineton Green Primary School and Chapel Fields Junior School. Marston Green is also home to around 5,000 residents in the civil parish of Bickenhill and Marston Green, and is known for being adjacent to two of the West Midlands biggest businesses: Birmingham Airport and the National Exhibition Centre.
A number of musicians, actors as well as other famous faces all come from the areas. With this in mind, we’ve taken a look at the most famous people who are from Olton and Marston Green, including those who were born in the areas, as well as those who have lived there at some point during their lifetime.
1. Ozzy Osbourne

2. Felicity Kendal CBE
The famous actress has appeared in numerous stage and screen roles over a more than 70-year career, but the role that brought attention to her career was that of Barbara Good in the 1975 television series The Good Life. Felicity was born in Olton

4. Terry Cooke
Born in Marston Green, Cooke is a former professional footballer and youth team coach of the Denver Kickers. As a player he was a midfielder from 1994 to 2011. He began his career with Manchester United, but struggled to break into the first team and had loan spells with Sunderland, Birmingham City and Wrexham before moving to United’s local rivals Manchester City in 1999.
