Renowned Birmingham neighbourhood pub closes amid major six-figure renovation

Owners of one of the most renowned neighbourhood pubs in Birmingham have announced its closure as it undergoes an extensive six-figure refurbishment.
Major renovations are taking place at The Cambridge on College Street in Longbridge town centre, which closed its doors on Monday (September 18). The work is taking place inside the pub and throughout its garden, with the owners explaining that this is “in order to give it a more modern look and feel.”

Hide AdThe pub is part of the Hungry Horse group and prides itself on being at the heart of the community offering an ideal venue for local families to come together and enjoy quality time.


The Cambridge offers classic pub eats, breakfast and desserts - and sport on TV. It is due to reopen its doors with its glitzy new look in October.
Longbridge town centre has a number of popular restaurants, including Herbert’s Yard run by Digbeth Dining Club which welcomes a host of Birmingham’s most popular street food traders. The area is also home to one of the biggest M&S Stores in the West Midlands, a large Sainsbury’s, a Premier Inn among other well known brands.
