Photos sent to BirminghamWorld showed people standing along the street having been evacuated from some buildings including Birmingham County Court and The Square Peg Wetherspoon pub.

A spokesperson for Birmingham County Court confirmed that the evacuation was due to a false fire alarm at the court on Monday morning.

Buildings across Bull Street including the court and Wetherspoons had an evacuation at about 9.40am that lasted between 15 and 20 minutes

Other buildings along the street are believed to have been evacuated as a security precaution due to the alarm going off in the court building.

People were allowed back into the buildings shortly after evacuation this morning.
