From now until July 2022, there will be many opportunities to get involved in the Games.

When are the Commonwealth games?

The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday 28 July 2022 and the closing ceremony will be taking place on Monday 8 August 2022.

Throughout the games approximately 6,500 athletes and team officials from 72 nations and territories across the Commonwealth will come together in a celebration of sport and culture.

The venues being used for the Games stretch from Coventry, Solihull, and Royal Leamington Spa to Cannock Chase Forest, Royal Sutton Coldfield, and Wolverhampton.

Social Media Manager

Closing Date: 12/06/2022

The Birmingham Commonwealth Games are looking for a full-time Social Media Manager to join the team and support the success of our social media strategy.

Key responsibilities will include managing and maximising the use of various platforms, ensuring a consistent look across channels, and identifying key content opportunities.

The successful applicant will be an internal and external champion for social media, maximising opportunities and ensuring an innovative, results-driven approach to feed into the overall success of the social media strategy.

Start Date: ASAP Salary: £16.50 per hour Contract: Temporary till August 2022

Venue Logistics Manager

Closing Date: 20/06/2022

The successful candidate will assist the Cluster Venue Logistics Manager to develop and implement Logistics operational plans, policies, and procedures for allocated venue/s within time critical deadlines.

The Logistics Functional Area is responsible for identifying, scoping, storing, delivering, recovering, and disposing of the materials required to stage the Games.

They will be located at One Brindley Place, Birmingham.

Start Date: Immediate/ASAP Salary: Competitive Contract: Fixed-term till August 2022

CCW Hospitality Venue Manager

Closing Date: 13/06/2022

Once the event goes live, the Hospitality Venue Manager will support the operation of the Hospitality Programme and will be based on site at one or more venues during the live period.

They will be located at One Brindley Place, Birmingham or another allocated venue.

Start Date: 18/07/2022 Salary: £35,000 per annum, pro rata Contract: Fixed-term until 9 August 2022

Village Gym Coordinator

The Village Gym Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the management of a Commonwealth Games Village Gym where you will assist in the implementation of appropriate operational procedures for athlete training.

This role will also play a part in recognising potential operational issues and facilitate responses.

Evening and weekend work will be required. The listing also states that there will be limitations on taking annual leave during the Games operational period in July and August.

Start Date: July 2022 Salary: £14.00 per hour Contract: Temporary till August 2022

Project Support

Technical Project Manager

The Technology department will be responsible for undertaking the planning, development, implementation, testing and operation of all technology systems and services which are required to support the Commonwealth Games.

Start Date: ASAP Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum, pro rata Contract: Fixed term until August 2022
