Hit musical ManBand comes to Birmingham for the first time
Feel-good musical makes Birmingham debut
A feel-good musical that proved a hit with audiences in Shrewsbury is making its Birmingham debut this week as part of Birmingham Fest 2026.

Bloomin' Good Productions is bringing ManBand: The Story to The Crescent Theatre, with performances running from Monday, July 27, to Wednesday, July 29, at 7pm.
Written by Tim Baker, with original songs by Pete and Jo Hanlon, the 75-minute production combines comedy with a nostalgic soundtrack inspired by the music of the 1960s and 1970s.
Set in a traditional local pub, the story follows a group of regulars who discover one of their friends had a hit song decades ago. Inspired by the revelation, they decide to enter their landlord's charity talent show. Too old to call themselves a boy band, they settle on the name ManBand and set their sights on becoming local stars.
The show first premiered as a full-length, two-hour musical at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury in October 2024, before being adapted into a shorter version featuring many of its most popular songs and comic moments.
Tim Baker, who also plays the pub landlord, said: "We're thrilled to be packing our bags and venturing across the M6 to perform ManBand for Brummies. It'll be fun to bring the lively and passionate cast to a new city."
Following its Birmingham performances, the production will travel to London for the Lambeth Festival, where it will be staged at The Golden Goose Theatre in Camberwell on October 22 and 23.
Tickets for the Birmingham performances are available through Birmingham Fest, with a two-for-one offer also available on the door, subject to availability.
