Designed to broaden horizons, enrich the curriculum and inspire students through new experiences, the day saw year groups take part in a range of educational visits and workshops across the region.

Year 7 students participated in a ‘Performing Arts Day’, taking part in workshops and performances delivered by Loudmouth and C4, providing opportunities to develop their confidence and performance skills.

Year 8 travelled to Weston Super Mare, where they enjoyed a visit to the Grand Pier and the beach, combining social experiences with opportunities to explore the local environment.

Year 9 spent the day in Stratford-upon-Avon, immersing themselves in the world of William Shakespeare. During their visit, students explored Shakespeare's Birthplace, Shakespeare's Schoolroom, the MAD Museum and Stratford Butterfly Farm, helping to bring their English studies to life.

Meanwhile, Year 10 students took part in subject-specific educational visits. History students travelled to the RAF Museum Cosford, where they explored exhibits spanning more than a century of aviation history and gained a deeper understanding of key historical events. Geography students visited Carding Mill Valley, undertaking fieldwork activities and exploring physical geography within a stunning natural landscape.

Raj Mann, executive headteacher at City Academy, said: "CORE Explore day is always a highlight of the school calendar. It provides students with the chance to experience learning in different environments, build confidence and make meaningful connections between their studies and the wider world.
