Summit Learning Trust, which runs nine schools across the two areas, said this year's Year 6 Standard Assessment Test (SATs) results reflected continued improvements in teaching and learning across its primary schools.

SATs are taken by pupils at the end of Key Stage 2 and assess English grammar, punctuation and spelling, reading and maths.

The trust, which comprises three secondary schools, five primary schools and a sixth form college educating more than 8,000 learners, said the results build on year-on-year improvements across its schools.

Vince Green, chief executive of Summit Learning Trust, said: "These results are a testament not only to the hard work and determination of our children, but also to the unwavering commitment of our staff and the support of families throughout their primary education.

"It is particularly encouraging to see our schools continuing to make year-on-year improvements. Across the trust, colleagues work closely together to share expertise, strengthen teaching and learning, and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed. That collaborative approach is making a real difference."

Craig Clarke, executive lead at Yarnfield Primary School, said: "We are incredibly proud of the determination, resilience and positive attitude our children have shown throughout the year and during SATs week.

"While SATs are just one small part of each child's learning journey, the effort, perseverance and courage they have shown are what truly matter. Whatever the results, they should all feel immensely proud of themselves – we certainly are."

Neil Kitching, principal at Kineton Green Primary School, said the results reflected pupils' "hard work, resilience and determination", while Adam Ames, principal at Pegasus Primary School, praised Year 6 pupils for approaching the assessments with "a positive attitude and a commitment to doing their very best".

Jenni Downes, principal at Erdington Hall Primary School, said pupils could look back on their achievements "with great pride", while David Barker, principal at The Oaklands Primary School, said every Year 6 pupil should be proud of their individual results and the resilience they had shown throughout the year.
