New data uncovered by the Daily Mail shows one Birmingham neighbourhood is the most crime ridden in the country

Ladywood in Birmingham is the most crime-ridden neighbourhood in England and Wales, according to new data.

In a new report, research from the Daily Mail shows that in Ladywood, the equivalent of nearly five people were attacked or assaulted every day in 2024. Around 1,782 violent or sexual crimes were committed in the area, the data shows.

The data was conducted by all neighbourhoods in England and Wales being ranked by offences per 1,000 population. You can see the data in full by using the Mail’s interactive map here.

The study comes after we revealed in November 2024 that Hodge Hill is the most deprived constituency in Birmingham, followed by Ladywood and Erdington.

All three areas have IMD scores that would rank them in the top 10% most deprived neighbourhoods nationally.
