The biggest and brightest names from the world of athletics will descend on Birmingham this weekend for the UK Indoor Athletics Championships 2023. The championships take place on February 18 and 19.

With Birmingham’s Utilita Arena playing host, two full days of athletics action is on the cards. The first event on Saturday gets underway at 11.26am, whilst it’s a slightly late 12 noon start on Sunday.

Spectators can head into the arena from 10.30am on Saturday and 11am on Sunday. The box office will be open for ticket collection and purchase around 30 minutes before the action starts.

In what will be a truly full weekend of athletics, events will take place until almost 7pm on Saturday and 4.30pm on Sunday. The box office will be open throughout the day for anyone hoping to get in to see the action once it’s underway.

Events such as the long jump, hurdles and shot put will feature across the championships. Here is the full schedule of what is happening and when in Birmingham.

Saturday February 18

The first event of the championships will be the heats for the women’s 60 metres race. This is due to get underway at 11.26am. The first final of the day will be the women’s triple jump due to take place at 4.17pm.

The last events of the day will be the heats for both the mens and womens 1500 metre race. These will get underway at 6.30pm and then 6.48pm.

The final of the women’s long jump is the first event on Sunday. This is due to start at 12pm and will be followed by the final of the men’s high jump. From 2.44pm until 4.25pm, each event at the championships will be a final.

The first event in this run is the women’s 3000m final followed up by the women’s high jump final. The last events of the weekend will be the finals of first the men’s and then the women’s 400m.
