Christmas is a magical time for getting together with loved ones with the main event always being Christmas Day dinner for everyone to enjoy.
With Birmingham’s German Christmas market set to return next week (November 2) many Brummies will be embracing the festivities in the city centre.
As always, many families will be cooking their own dinners to enjoy on the festive day, but for those of you would rather treat themselves for a Christmas Day dinner at a restaurant, we’ve got you covered.
So, if you don’t have the time to prepare a turkey or get the house set for the family coming around, why not head out for dinner on Christmas Day and take the stress out of it with Brum having some terrific restaurants to dine at on the big day.
It doesn’t have to always be the traditional turkey with plenty of these restaurants serving up delicious vegetarian alternatives.

1. Browns Brasserie And Bar, St Martins Square, city centre
Brown’s is renowned for its Sunday roasts. There’s everything from succulent sirloin to slow-cooked pork belly on offer which are all set to tantalise the taste buds. They are also open for Xmas day dinner. Browns is open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve, with bespoke menus. The Browns Christmas Day menu includes four courses for £92 per person.
2. Gaucho, Colmore Row
Located in one of the busiest business districts, this high-end dining experience is going to be legendary. Not only does it offer an amazing vibe but also a four-course delicious menu.
The Christmas Day meal at Gaucho starts with a welcome drink and ends with a cheese trolley. They have vegetarian and gluten-free options as well. You can also choose from their festive menu and private dining options. 3. Orelle Sky Bar & Restaurant in Birmingham
Birmingham’s skyline restaurant, Orelle, will be launching 2 new menus for guests to enjoy on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. Rhe restaurant is located on the 24th floor of 103 Colmore Row with great views.
To celebrate the festivities, Executive Chef, Chris Emery has curated 2 seasonal menus, that showcase the finest produce and suppliers he has worked with since his appointment at Orelle. The Christmas Day menu, which takes in 4 courses, and is also available for children, can be booked between 12.00 - 16.00 and includes dishes such as: Citrouille - roasted pumpkin velouté, quince, roasted parsnip, walnut, Crevettes - red tiger prawn tortellini, kohlrabi, prawn consommé, and Basse - line caught bass, shellfish fondue, haricot, squash, Brussel sprout, shellfish bisque. 4. Chez Mal at Malmaison, The Mailbox
Chez Mal at Malmaison Birmingham is offering a range of sumptuous options. You can pick a private dining option as well.
The three-course menu, including a glass of Champagne, features vegetarian and vegan options as well. You can pick a starter like curried roast parsnip and coconut soup, and proceed on to mushroom and root vegetable pithiver and end it with a pudding, coffee with amaretto chocolate truffles.
