So who are the team behind The Cocktail Club?

The Cocktail Club concept was initially conceived by John James ‘JJ’ Goodman and James Hopkins. The pair won the television competition ‘The Restaurant’ in 2009 and went on to found their first venue on Goodge Street in London.

JJ previously won the World’s Best Bartender award at the 2008 Cocktail World Cup - so their bold ambition to be the ‘ultimate party bar’ where guests can really let their hair down.

Party packages will also be on offer, with guests able to book cocktail masterclasses alongside private room and venue hire. The site’s interior will also be designed by a hot top Brit designer.

So what are the other venues in The Cocktail Club family like?

After winning The Restaurant and opening their initial venue on Goodge Street, JJ and James opened a further eight sites in London across the following eight years, with their first regional expansion opening in Bristol in 2018.

Goodman and Hopkins set out to create a collection of bars wherein customers could experience best-in-class cocktails within exciting, ‘theatrical’ environments. Positioning themselves as ‘the ultimate party bar’, The Cocktail Club definitely aims to give customers a wild night out.

Each of The Cocktail Club sites are individually designed, differing in decor and venue size. Many sites offer themed Bottomless Brunches, which include bottomless Prosecco, Pornstar Martinis and Brambles, a brunch menu and live entertainment.

Following a rapid period of growth the bars were acquired by Nightcap, which runs Luna Springs and Tonight Josephine, at the beginning of 2021,

So what have The Cocktail Club owners said about their new venue in Birmingham in their own words?

As their largest venue to date, the ‘high energy’ bar on Temple Street will have a capacity of 450, set across two floors and three rooms.

JJ Goodman, co-founder of The Cocktail Club, said, “We can’t wait to launch our biggest site to date in Birmingham with an explosive bang. The Cocktail Club is all about giving guests a good time; a place where people can truly let their hair down.

“Our bartenders put on a theatrical show for customers, from dancing on the bar tops to throwing ice and swinging lights, there’s always something going on at The Cocktail Club. “We live by our mantra, ‘welcome to the party’, and we’re so excited to bring this to Birmingham.”

The Cocktail Club Birmingham is set to open in September 2022.
