The St Patrick’s Day parade may be cancelled in Birmingham - but that won’t be stopping the celebrations
Birmingham is renowned for its welcoming St Patrick’s Day celebrations with its world famous parade attracting more than 80,000 visitors in years gone by.
And while it won’t be taking place this year - that won’t be stopping the craic in and around the Irish Quarter in Digbeth.
A host of pubs are planning some mighty St Patrick’s Parade Day parties on the Sunday before March 17, the traditional date for the parade.
The parties are featuring DJ set from Brit Award winners Fontaine’s DC, live music and much more
And the green, white and gold shenanigans doesn’t stop there - as there is a host of Irish celebrations throughout the week and over Paddy’s weekend itself.
The future of the parade is now in the hands of Birmingham Irish Association who previously told BirminghamWorld that it is ‘in review’ - so may be it’ll be back next year.

5. Old Library, Digbeth

6. Mockingbird Cinema in the Custard Factory, Digbeth
Linking up with the Old Crown, the popular independent cinema is screening the mega award-winning Irish film The Banshees of Inisherin, starring superstar Colin Farrell. But it could be sold out

7. Zumhof Biergarten, Lower Trinity Street, Digbeth
It may be inspired by Germany, but that doesn’t stop this popular beer garden from celebrating the Emerald Isle in style. The St Patrick’s fun starts from Thursday, March 16 to Saturday, March 18. 8. Herbert’s Yard, Longbridge
Out of town street food favourite Herbert’s Yard is joining the craic with a night of laughs hosted by Closedup Comedy on Wednesday, March 15. They’ve got three of the best Irish comedians to entertain you - Andrew Ryan, Micky Bartlett and Will Thompson, and, of course, delicous street food
