Here’s what you need to know about the routes for the 202 Solihull Half Marathon and 10K this Sunday (August 13)

Excitement is building for the 2023 Solihull Half Marathon and 10K run this weekend.

The half marathon and 10k run get underway this Sunday (13 August). A number of road closures will also be in place while the running events are underway. With around 1,000 people expected to take part in the race, many will want to know what the routes are for this year’s event.

What is the route for this year’s race?

The route starts by following New Road into Malvern Park, leaving the park via Widney Manor Road, to reach Knowle town centre. A countryside section through Barston and Eastcote follows, which includes the steeper inclines and declines of the course.

The route returns to Knowle before following Widney Manor Road and Malvern Park back to Solihull town centre. There will be marshals all around the course as well as distance markers and arrows.

10k

And the 10k follows the start and end of this route, with an earlier turn around point. It also begins on New Road and passes into Malvern Park, leaving the park via Widney Manor Road, to reach Knowle town centre. It goes onto Smiths Lane and Browns Lane. The route use the same start and finish line as the Half Marathon.

Where is the finish line for the Solihull Half Marathon and 10k?

Like with much of the route, the finish line for participants of both the 10k and half marathon will be at the same place. This will be on New Road in Malvern Park in Solihull town centre.

When are the races?

Both of the Solihull races are taking place on the same day, which is Sunday, 13 August 2023. The Half Marathon will start at 9am and the 10 will start at 9.30am.
